BJ McIntyre, Clinician
BJ McIntyre has a Master’s Degree from Teachers College, Columbia University an Orton-Gillingham certified instructor through the Dyslexia Training Institute, and an Associate Level Educational Therapist through the AET,
With over a decade of experience in education and youth development, BJ has taught a wide range of subjects, including ELA, Social Studies, Executive Functioning, Social Emotional Learning, and Financial Literacy. Additionally, BJ has expertise in curriculum planning for teachers, focusing on executive function and supporting students with learning or motivational challenges.
He possesses California teaching credentials authorizing instruction in ELA and Social Studies for grades 7-12 and is also an ICF-certified Youth Resilience Coach. He is currently completing his postgraduate Educational Therapy and Dyslexia certification. BJ has worked in education and youth development for over a decade and has taught a variety of classes, from ELA and Social Studies to courses on Social Emotional Learning and Financial Literacy. BJ also has experience planning curriculum for teachers on topics of executive function, including supporting students with learning and/or motivational difficulties.
BJ’s educational philosophy is that all students have the internal resources necessary to succeed and that the main job of the Clinician is to help unlock a student’s maximum potential. When he is not with students, BJ is most likely on a hike with his dog Sasha, catching the latest movie at the theatre, or reading historical fiction novels at home.
