Angela Moscheo, Clinician
Angela Moscheo holds a Master Degree in Education from Belmont University, a Master Degree in Systematic Theology and Ethics from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University, and a Bachelor in History and Religious Studies. Angela has over fifteen years of experience with diverse learners and confidently provides a therapeutic academic environment for students who are experiencing developmental, behavioral or emotional challenges.
In addition to her formal education, Angela is certified in Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment Program for cognitive enrichment. This certification is the foundation for her work with executive function strategies and other actionable teaching methodologies. Angela is also an experienced and licensed substance abuse counselor and community educator.
Angela began counseling twenty years ago in New York City while she was in seminary serving as a chaplain in hospitals and detention centers. She then returned to Nashville and became a licensed teacher specializing in diverse learners. Angela primarily works with middle and high school students and has served as a teacher and Humanities Department Head in charter schools and other non-traditional classrooms with at-risk students and those with therapeutic needs. She believes that teaching and counseling are relational skills, and she credits her talent for relationship-building with her success with hard to reach and hard to teach adolescents.
With two decades of counseling and teaching experience, Angela believes strongly in a self-care regime that includes daily yoga and meditation, maintaining healthy eating habits and consistent sleep hygiene, and spending ample time with family and friends. Angela is an avid traveller and can be found hiking and camping in state parks all over the country with her son (who is a sophomore in college) and their two Great Danes.
