Clinician

Joi holds an M.Ed. from High Tech High Graduate School of Education and a Master’s in Special Education from California State University East Bay. With over a decade of diverse experience in education, she has supported youth mental health, facilitated outdoor learning, and provided academic assistance through special education services.

As an Education Specialist and founding team member at Latitude High School in Oakland, Joi designed accessible learning environments, implemented accommodations, and taught modified courses for students facing learning challenges. She also managed Individual Education Plans which involved setting academic goals, tracking services, reporting progress, and facilitating weekly meetings to address any learning obstacles her students were facing.

At the heart of her work is a passion for creating innovative learning experiences and building authentic, meaningful relationships with students. Inspired by their creativity and honesty, Joi thrives on contributing to projects that foster both academic and personal growth.
