Raina Hodge Royale M.A., Clinician
Raina Hodge Royale holds a Master of Arts from Hoftsra University and a teaching credential. She is an educator, instructional coach, curriculum designer, and lifelong learner with nearly 30 years of experience supporting students across elementary, middle school, high school, college, and adult learning environments. Her work has spanned classroom teaching, educational leadership, higher education, professional development, athletics, and student support—with a particular passion for helping learners understand how they learn best and develop the confidence to become more independent.
Raina brings a uniquely holistic approach to working with students. Her academic background in psychology, kinesiology, education, health, organizational change and leadership has shaped her understanding of the many factors that influence learning. She recognizes that when a student is struggling, the challenge is not always a lack of ability. Sometimes the student needs a different entry point, a clearer system, a new strategy, or simply someone who can help them make sense of what is getting in their way.
A significant part of Raina’s work has focused on executive functioning, organization, task management, goal setting, self-advocacy, communication, and student confidence. She helps students break overwhelming tasks into manageable steps, develop practical systems for getting started and following through, and build language around their own learning needs. Her goal is not
simply to help a student complete today’s assignment, but to help them develop strategies they can carry into tomorrow’s classroom—and eventually into college, work, and life.
Raina has extensive experience supporting students with diverse learning needs and collaborating with families, educators, and school teams. Her experience includes working with students navigating IEPs and 504 plans, learning differences, academic transitions, literacy and written expression, social-emotional development, and challenges with organization, motivation, and
independence.
As an instructional coach and professional development specialist, Raina has also spent years helping educators differentiate instruction, strengthen classroom practices, and create learning environments where students can feel both challenged and supported. She brings that same mindset to one-on-one student work: start with the learner, identify the strengths, understand the
challenge, and build from there.
Raina Royale believes that learning is a lifestyle. She wants students to leave each session with more than completed work—they should have a better understanding of themselves as learners, a strategy they can use again, and a little more confidence than they had when they walked in. Her ultimate goal is simple: to help students move from “I can’t” to “I know how.”
