Evidence-based approach to literacy instruction

What is Reading Therapy?

A scientifically grounded instructional approach to literacy. It is commonly known as structured literacy instruction and is the most effective way to teach reading. It is beneficial for ALL readers and especially for those who have language-based disabilities like dyslexia and dysgraphia.

Science of Reading

A comprehensive body of research that provides us with information about which parts of the brain are responsible for reading development and how we learn to read. From this empirically supported research, we find that structured literacy instruction is the most effective approach.

Orton-Gillingham Approach

Often considered the Gold Standard for reading instruction. It closely follows research from the Science of Reading and breaks reading and spelling down into skills involving letters and sounds and builds on these skills over time. It places an emphasis on multi-sensory instructional techniques.

Our Team

Our educational therapists and reading therapists have extensive training and experience supporting students of all ages. They have considerable training in multi-sensory methods of teaching structured literacy which involves hundreds of hours of coursework and hands-on experience.
