The Orton-Gillingham Approach

Orton-Gillingham is widely considered the gold standard for supporting students with dyslexia and other reading-based learning differences.

This structured literacy approach is:

  • Explicit & Sequential – Skills are taught in a logical, carefully planned progression
  • Multisensory – Students engage visual, auditory, and kinesthetic pathways to strengthen learning
  • Diagnostic & Prescriptive – Instruction continually adapts based on student performance and assessment data

FAQ

How does scheduling work?

We collaborate with families to create a consistent weekly schedule. We offer daytime, afternoon, and evening availability to accommodate other summer camps and commitments. An example of a Summer Intensive Schedule may look like Monday-Friday at 3pm.

The Registration Forms will ask specific questions about scheduling and the student’s availability.

We offer both virtual and in-person options and will partner with you to determine the best fit for your child during the initial intake appointment.

Virtual sessions can be a great option for students in 3rd grade and up who thrive in highly tailored, engaging instruction. This format allows students to work with some of the most highly trained and experienced reading specialists in the country, regardless of location. Families also appreciate the flexibility virtual sessions offer—eliminating commutes and fitting more easily into busy schedules filled with work, camps, and multiple siblings.

In-person sessions are typically recommended for our youngest learners (K–3rd grade), especially for students who benefit from frequent redirection, hands-on support, or close supervision. In-person instruction can also be ideal for children who may have difficulty navigating online tools without significant parental involvement.

Both formats are intentionally designed to be highly interactive and engaging, incorporating high-interest activities and multisensory learning, while following a structured, evidence-based approach. No matter the format, your child receives individualized instruction focused on building measurable literacy skills, confidence, and a joy of learning!
