Kimberly Schaefer Moorehead

Clinician

Kim holds a Masters of Education in Exceptional Student Education with a concentration in Educational Therapy from Southeastern University, as well as a Masters Degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University.  She is a Professionally Certified Educational Therapist (PCET) through the National Institute of Learning Development (NILD).  

Kim is trained in the Orton-Gillingham method.  Her goal is to give students tools to enable them to overcome specific learning challenges and help them to successfully build an efficient learning process.  Her strength is her ability to create a framework for her students that fosters growth, allowing them to become competent, confident learners, gaining mastery over their cognitive vulnerabilities, and honing their cognitive strengths for success in the classroom and life.

Kim is an experienced teacher in both the public and private sectors. She has delivered 1:1 educational therapy as well as targeted small group intervention in both reading and math.  

When Kim is not working, she enjoys time with her family.  She has three awesome boys.  They enjoy spending time outdoors, reading, and traveling together.
