Susan Spurlock

Clinician

Susan brings a rich background of multifaceted experience with children to her work with SfL. As a classroom teacher, drama instructor, music specialist, and camp instructor working with children of all ages she has gained many skills over her 35 years in education. An understanding of students’ social-emotional and motivational needs informs her techniques in teaching.

Susan has a BA in Liberal Studies and a multi subject teaching credential from Dominican University. She has had many years of experience in classroom teaching for grades K-5 in a variety of school settings. She has worked with and learned from many students with learning differences and disabilities and communicated regularly with their parents as part of a team approach in their education.

When not teaching, she is an avid rock hound, hiker, gardener, and musician in Oakland, California.
