Kate Laux, Clinician
Kate Laux holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Boston University and a Master of Arts in Special Education from National Louis University in Chicago.
Kate has over a decade of experience in public schools and has taught subjects across the curriculum as a Special Education Teacher and Learning Behavior Specialist, including ELA, Math, Social Studies, and Social Emotional Learning. She has been trained in multiple frameworks to support neurodiverse and multilingual learners, and brings additional expertise in early literacy and executive functioning.
Beyond the classroom, Kate has designed and facilitated professional development for public school and TFA teachers on curriculum planning, student assessment, and a wide range of Special Education best practices. She has since worked across district-level talent and operations roles which have given her a systems-level understanding of how schools support our most diverse learners.
Kate believes that with the right supports and supporters every child is capable of accomplishing any goal. As a clinician, it’s important for Kate to connect with students as unique individuals first – helping her to better understand what supports are needed to unlock the greatness already inside of them.
When she’s not with students or in a spreadsheet, Kate can be found hiking in the East Bay redwoods, seeing the latest movies, talking about a good book, or being kept on her toes by her black cat Arthur.
