Shendi Xu holds a Bachelor’s degree in English and American Literature from New York University, along with a California Education Specialist Instruction Credential. She is a board-certified Exceptional Needs Specialist – Early Childhood through Young Adulthood – Mild/Moderate Disabilities.
Throughout her career, Shendi has worked as a Resource Specialist, a Special Day Class teacher, and has held leadership roles coaching new Special Education teachers across K-12. Her focus has been on implementing effective instructional strategies and case management for students with learning difficulties. She has led efforts to ensure the effective implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) while coaching staff on differentiated instruction, analyzing student performance, and guiding general education teachers in deepening their understanding of learning disabilities.
Shendi is deeply committed to enhancing educational outcomes for students with diverse learning needs, supporting their academic and behavioral growth. She believes that learning is one of life’s greatest joys and that every student has the capacity to succeed when guided by skilled and compassionate teachers. By understanding the whole child, she leverages their strengths to best meet their individual learning needs.
