Robert has over a decade of experience teaching Special Education, working with adults and children in grades TK-8. He has worked in public and nonpublic schools, and privately as an Executive Function and Reading Interventionist. In public schools, Robert has served as a Resource Specialist and a Special Day Class teacher. In these roles, Robert was responsible for all students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and is skilled in assessment and case management. He is a strong advocate for both student and family needs.

Robert’s educational philosophy, and the reason that he became a Special Education Teacher, is that students need to believe in themselves. Robert has a holistic perspective and loves to build students’ confidence and supports them as they grow both academically and as individuals, recognizing their gifts and areas of need. Robert excels at supporting nervous and anxious learners so they can accept instruction and thrive. He creates and modifies materials so that all students are successful and builds on that success to strengthen skills and confidence. Robert is also a fourth-generation Oaklander.
