Alessandra Faggionato

Clinician

Alessandra started her career in teaching when she was working as a graduate assistant at WIU at Thurgood Marshall Learning Center teaching literacy, and teaching English Learners at Blackhawk Community College. Alessandra then worked as a classroom teacher, academic interventionist, and English Language Development Specialist at Lincoln Irving Dual Language School in Illinois. Alessandra then moved to California and joined Rocketship Public Schools and taught English Language Arts in lower elementary. Since then Alessandra has been working for Aspire Public Schools as a classroom teacher, Special Education lead teacher, and literacy specialist. Alessandra’s experience in schools has spanned a variety of roles and grades.

As an educator, Alessandra is passionate about literacy as justice and fostering a love of reading and learning for all students. Alessandra has extensive experience working with students who have IEPs and aims to foster academic proficiency and confidence. Alessandra has Orton Gillingham training and implements instruction based on the science of reading. Alessandra is skilled in progress monitoring, informing instruction using data, creating materials that are engaging and that target a specific need, and guiding students in achieving their highest potential. 

Outside of work she enjoys sailing in the Bay, reading, traveling, spending time with friends, and trying different foods.
