Clinician
Christine holds an M.A. in Education from CSU East Bay, a post-graduate certification as an Educational Therapist through U.C. Riverside, and has earned her Professional designation for the Association of Educational Therapists.
Christine joined SfL from a private practice where she specialized in working with K-12 students with dyslexia and language-based learning disorders. She has trained in multiple Orton-Gillingham-based reading strategies, is a certified Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner, and loves working with students who need help building executive function skills.
In addition to her experience in reading intervention and as an educational therapist, Christine has training and experience in parent advocacy and was a founding Regional Lead for Decoding Dyslexia CA. She has experience assisting families as they navigate the special education process and has facilitated training for parents and educators on a county and regional level through the North Regional SELPA and the Alameda County Office of Education.
When not with students, Christine spends time with her family, is a closet novel writer (multi-year NANOWRIMO participant!), a terribly slow knitter, a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions or Independence, and is a life-long Girl Scout.
